- Ghost Plant is native to Mexico and southwestern United States. The name for the genus comes from the Greek words “graptos”, meaning “marked” or “inscribed” and “petalon”, meaning “petals” for the markings on the flower petals of many of the species. Silvery gray to bluish green foliage has a pinkish tinge to the edges of the leaves when they are young. Layers of leaves form the rosette, which range in size from less than an inch across to several inches wide. The plant is related to and resembles Echeveria. Perfect as a contrasting texture and color in mixed succulent plantings.
