- There are few true blues in the world of flowers, but the blooms on a Dark Knight Shrub come very close. When they open in late summer, every honeybee in town knows about it! Caryopteris, a small shrub or woody perennial, forms a neat, low mounding shrubby perennial. Bees and butterflies love it. The flowers are clustered in panicles above the foliage, as little feathery puffs over a long period in late summer and fall. Deer-resistant.
- Full sun and soil that drains well. Doesn't like "wet feet". It is extremely drought tolerant and pest free.
- Grows to 2 ft high. Blooms on new wood– prune back in early spring. Deciduous.
Caryopteris 'Dark Knight’
Plants came in great shape. I usually wait a little bit to see if plants thrive, they are! One got planted outside, doing good even though temps dropped a bit, in the 50s. Two are in my greenhouse and growing, will be planted in another week, when temps are a little warmer.
Plants arrived safely, healthy and larger than expected.
